This will be the 4th Copa America Tournament for Sam's Army. The USA's previous best Copa America finish was 4th in 1995. The USA will host the South American Tournament for the first time ever in the 100th Anniversary of Copa America! This is also the first time the South American Tournament has been on North American soil. USA has played 7 matches so far in 2016. Five Friendly matches and two Concacaf World Cup Qualifying Matches. The Friendlies were all wins for USA, 3-2 vs Iceland, 1-0 vs Canada, 3-1 vs Puerto Rico, and 1-0 vs Ecuador, and 5-0 vs Bolivia. The USA split their two World Cup Qualifying matches with Guatemala in March a 2-0 away loss and 4-0 home win.

USA is placed in Copa America Group A with Colombia, Paraguay, and Costa Rica. The Tournament hosts will open against Colombia 6/3, Costa Rica 6/7, and Paraguay 6/11 to close out Group A play. The USA are slight underdogs to Colombia to win the Group. The USA are led by star players Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), DeAndre Yedlin(Tottenham Hotspur), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders), Jermaine Jones (Colorado Rapids 96)

Star Players - Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), DeAndre Yedlin (Tottenham Hotspur) Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Jermaine Jones (Colorado Rapids 96), Fabian Johnson (Borussia Monchengladbach)

Potential Breakout Star Players - Perry Kitchen (Hearts), Darlington Nagbe (Portland Timbers), Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund), Bobby Shou Wood (Hamburg SV), Gyasi Zardes (LA Galaxy)

Big Names Left Home - Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders), Matt Miazga (Chelsea FC)

Manager Profile - Jurgen Klinsmann has been the Manager of Team USA since 2011 after previously managing Bayern Munich and the German National Team. Klinsmann has produced good results in World Cup 2014. However the USA's recent performances particularly in last summer's US Gold Cup exit which lead to a failed Confederations Cup Bid and Concacaf World Cup Qualifying struggles have left a lot to be desired. Although many have called for his job, Klinsmann has shown the ability to produce young star talent and this years Copa America roster is no exception. Bobby Shou Wood, Christian Pulisic, Darlington Nagbe, Gyasi Zardes, and Perry Kitchen all look to breakout in this summer's Tournament.
